At Anthony Clifford Studios we have a strong tradition in teacher training. We are an ISTD Approved Dance Centre offering all the units of both the DDI and DDE teacher training exams on a part time basis.

Our incredible "Dream Team" faculty have a vast experience in training DDI and DDE students and an impressive list of qualifications. Lessons are available with Jacqueline Barnes, Christina Ballard, Vivienne Saxton and Diana Clifford.

Diploma in Dance Instruction (DDI) and Diploma in Dance Education (DDE) have now replaced the Associate qualification and we can offer this exam in the following genre:

Imperial Ballet, Tap, Modern, Latin American, Ballroom, Disco Freestyle and Line Dancing.

Our students are at least 17 years of age, but we also welcome application from mature students who have a suitable background as professional performers or teachers and need to update or complete their teaching qualifications but don't want to go back to full-time College.

To begin with teacher training students need to have passed their Intermediate ISTD exam in each genre they wish to teach. These exams can be studied with us in our regular classes on Sundays mornings or weekday evenings, or studied in daytime private lessons. Licentiate and Fellowship coaching or syllabus revision is also available on request.

Practical Units of DDI Modern and Tap group classes take place on Mondays and Tuesdays during term time.
Practical Units of DDI Imperial Ballet group class takes place on Thursdays 10.15-12.15 during term time.

Practical Units of DDE Modern and Tap group classes are on Mondays and Tuesdays respectively, during term time.

As part of their training, student teachers will need to watch senior teachers at work here or at another dance school, affiliated to the centre. They will learn how to conduct and plan classes and more easily apply their new knowledge. Tutorials for these units and those of the DDE are available by appointment with your tutor.

Here at Anthony Clifford Studios we appreciate the busy lives and varying commitments of our students and wherever possible work around your schedules. If we currently do not cater for a class at a time to suit you it always worth asking us.

For more information contact the principal direct or consult the ISTD web site www.istd.org

Disco Freestyle, Ballroom, Latin American and Country and Western Line Dancing can be studied by way of private lessons.
