As an essential part of Musical Theatre we offer drama and singing classes
to give our students a further insight into what's required when pursing
a career in the theatre. As professional dancers ourselves we never did a
job that didn't include all three disciplines to some degree (dancing, singing
& drama).
It's compulsory to to study singing with drama as both are required to take
part in our shows.
These classes work towards and culminate in full productions of musicals.Most rehearsals for these shows take place during class times. However near to a show extra rehearsals do take place and students and parents are expected to make themselves available.
The singing classes are split into three age groups 5 1/2 -11 for the junior
class,
12 - 14 for the upper junior class and 15 - 18 for the senior class.
All classes work on general singing technique
as a group as well as individually and cover a wide range of song styles.
Singing private lessons are available by appointment. (As with all private
lessons, 24 hrs notice must be given for cancellations or full fee will be
charged)
The drama classes are also split into three age groups 5 1/2 -11 for the junior class, 12 - 14 for the upper junior class and 15 - 18 for the senior class. All classes get a chance to do scripted work as a group and as a individuals, also developing ideas through improvisation and workshops which build into the students own individual work. We're currently looking into the possibility of putting students into LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) examinations.
